Kim Lab

Welcome to the lab of Chongwoo A. Kim at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Our research focuses on chromatin associated proteins. Currently, we are studying a group of gene silencing proteins called the Polycomb Group (PcG). While the PcG has long been known to play an important role in develpment, they also play a vital role in stem cell regulation, including those of cancer stem cells. Our goal is to understand how they regulate gene expression using a variety of approaches with a focus on their structure/function relationship.
